Established in 2007, when Linda and Harold Beatty moved their family from North Bay, so that they would have a place to board the family’s quarter horses closer to home. A small herd of alpacas was acquired at the time to the add diversity to the farm operation. Canadian alpaca associations at the time were trying to establish alpaca as a more main stream livestock animal, but have not been as successful as the Australian Alpaca Association at fully appreciating the lifecycle of livestock farming. As a result, the farm’s herd has remained small and continues to provide fibre to the artisanal market.
Horse Hay
We strive in producing horse quality hay in small square and large round bales.
Weather permitting first cut hay is harvested in mid June (late boot to early seed head emergence). We usually have extra hay to sell, but prefer to bale to order. Contact us to inquire about current pricing and availability. Placing orders in May is preferred.
Small Bales weight about 40Lbs.
Large Rounds can be baled from 4 to 5 feet.
Pasture Poultry
The farm is licensed under to Chicken Farmers of Ontario Artisanal Program to produce chicken protein.
Pasture raised poultry can be purchased on farm or more conveniently at the Carriage House Market in Powassan.
Bulk Bagged Wood Shavings
We sell Pestell Shavings with discounts when purchased in bulk orders from 1-10, 11-44, 45-99, and 100+
